White-crowned Sparrow, Zonotrichia leucophrys
With its wonderful white spot on its head, the appropriately named White-crowned Sparrow is an easy to identify native North American bird. It is found in most parts of the continent at some time of the year. Not only handsome, the White-crowned Sparrow is also a fine singer and loves to chirp away merrily. At 7 in/18 cm long, the White-crowned is a bit bigger than the common House Sparrow.
