Epalpus signifer doesn't have a common name, but is classified as a Tachinid Fly, which is one of the largest insect families in the insect order Diptera with over 8,000 species including 13,00 in North America. Tachinid Flies often look like common houseflies, however they they have only two wings. Tachinids are important pollinators.
