San Francisco Lacewing, Nothochrysa californica

Lacewings are interesting insects with transparent wings that are heavily veined as you can see in this photograph. The San Francisco Lacewing belongs to a large family of lacewings called Chrysopidae or Green Lacewings, even though it isn't green.
