The Chestnut-backed Chickadee is a delightful, friendly little bird found primarily along the entire west coast of North America. It is one of seven chickadee species found on the continent.

The Chestnut-backed Chickadees lives in cavities and will line its nest with soft things like fur or fluff. It feeds on a variety of foods including insects, suet and seeds and even stores food for tougher times.

Notable characteristics include white cheeks, dark brownish-black head
and reddish-brown back which is the source of its common name.
