Fireweed, Chamerion angustifolium

Fireweed is the floral emblem of the Yukon. It gets it name because of its amazing ability to spring up in burned-over areas, quickly transforming a bleak landscape into a sea of pink.

Fireweed spreads rapidly by seeds and rhizomes and can grow quickly to 3-9 ft/1-3 m tall.

People have found all sorts of uses for Fireweed including making
honey and tea or using parts of the plant in salads, soups and stews.
