The Sitka Valerian is a common plant found in northwestern North America, down to California and east to Montana. It prefers moist mountain forests and high alpine zones but grows in numerous other habitats such as stream-banks and moist meadows.
It grows up to 1-3 ft/.3-.9 m high with a cluster of numerous tiny white or pinkish flowers.
