Chocolate Lily, Fritillaria lanceolata
The Chocolate Lily is found in western North American in a range which stretches from southern BC, across to Idaho and south into parts of northern California. It is a perennial and grows from a bulb. Its flowers have a dark purple-black or brown colour with some yellow or greenish-yellow markings. They are bell shaped and hang in a nodding fashion and grow in clusters of 2 or more, or sometimes singularly.
