Pinesap, Hypopitys monotropa
Pinesap is a saprophyte which means that it lives on dead or organic matter and is unable to produce its own food. This is an unusual plant which can grow to 12 in/30 cm tall. It is fleshy coloured with yellowish or pinkish flowers. It enjoys growing on the floors of coniferous forests.
