Brittlebush, Encelia farinsoa
Brittlebush is a colourful desert flower of the sunflower family of plants. It is common in northwest Mexico and the southwestern deserts of the US. The plant is characterized by its numerous bright yellow flower heads which grow on leafless, branched stalks. The flower heads have numerous central disk flowers and 11 to 21 long slender disk flowers.

Brittlebush is called Incienso in some areas as the resin from the woody stems
was used as incense in churches.
