The Garden Soldier Fly is a relatively new arrival from Australia via New Zealand and Hawaii. Following recent sightings in California is it now found in Canada . As a species that is relatively unknown in North America according to the published literature, we consider ourselves fortunate to be able to capture a glimpse of this rare insect for this month’s feature. We feel that we are one of the first and few sites in North America to feature this insect.
