Photo Tips: Using Nature's Props |
| |
Your bird-feeding station is a wonderful place to get some great photographs of the delightful birds that drop by for a snack, drink or bath. Adding a few twigs and props can assist you in getting some super pictures.
Here are several ideas. |

|
Simply attaching a few branches near a food or water source like this flowering twig of Witch Hazel provides a perch for the birds to hop on while they check out the scene. |
|
| |
Photo opportunities soon arrive, especially if it's a bird that enjoys a bit of company like this Bushtit. |

This is a great opportunity to get some super photographs. |

This Bewick's Wren has just come out of one of the water dishes and instead of flying away, it perches on a lichen-covered branch placed there just for that purpose. |

A twig or two near the water dishes gives another bird a place to wait for its turn. Here a female Red Crossbill has a drink while another waits its turn. |

These photo set ups are quite helpful if you want to capture more natural- looking images without the feeders or the water dishes.
