Our American friends will be celebrating trees this month on Arbor Day, which is the last Friday in April every year and this year it’s on April 24.
Other nations celebrate at different times of the year depending on seasons, traditions and climate. For example, Canada celebrates Maple Leaf Day during National Forest Week.

Whenever and wherever you celebrate, this is a great opportunity to spread awareness about the importance of our trees.
The Arbor Day Foundation’s wonderful website is a great starting point. It’s loaded with ideas on how you can join in the celebrations and promote awareness.
Take some time to appreciate the trees in your garden, neighbourhood or local park. Of course the best way to celebrate would be to plant a tree.
