White-winged Dove

White-winged Dove, Zenaida asiatica

The White-winged Dove breeds in scrub areas of the deserts of the southwestern U.S. and southern Texas but spends winters in Florida or south of the U.S. This medium-sized dove forages on the ground feeding on fruits, grains and seeds. Some of its most noticeable characteristics include the white patches on the wings and tail.
