Fox Sparrow, Passerella iliaca
The Fox Sparrow is an attractive bird which feeds by scratching around on the ground, kicking up leaves and pecking into the soil in search of berries, seeds and grubs. There are four subspecies in North America with each one being slightly different in colour, but all having the same basic markings and speckled breast.
