Spotting a mature Bald Eagle with its hooked, yellow bill, powerful yellow feet, penetrating yellow eyes and famous white head and tale is an exciting and unmistakable sighting.

Juvenile Bald Eagles are often not recognized because they lack the more distinctive plumage. It may take five years to reach full, majestic maturity.
Adult birds measure almost 3 ft/1 m long with a wingspan of 80 in/2 m.
