Dunlin, Calidris alpina
The Dunlin nests in the tundra of North America and winters along the mild coasts of the continent. It is a relatively small wading bird. Its bill is long and points a bit downward and is used to effectively pick food as it scrounges along mudflats and beaches. It feeds on insects as well as worms, mollusks and crustaceans.
