Smooth Hawksbeard, Crepis capillaris
Introduced from Europe, Smooth Hawksbeard is now found in in western and eastern North America. It is a member of the Aster or Sunflower Family of plants and is often found along disturbed areas such as beside roads or in fields, meadows and pastures.
It is characterised by its yellow flower heads and a milky sap. Smooth Hawksbeard can grow up to 35 in/90 cm tall.
