The American Globeflower is very early flowering plant in alpine areas as it is present before the snows have gone. American Globeflowers are often mixed in with Marsh Marigolds and subsequently missed. They have five petals compared to seven or eight on the Marsh Marigolds and are much broader and classy looking when in a small group.
